+++ 90th anniversary of György Ligeti +++
On 28 May, György Ligeti who died in Vienna in 2006 would have turned 90 years old. In celebration of this anniversary, numerous concerts as well as a CD recording of György Ligeti's organ works by Dominik Susteck make the composer come alive again in his music.
"I live now and here, I am involuntarily part of a culture, and what I produce will gain acceptance over time or not," György Ligeti said 20 years ago in a portrait by filmmaker Michel Follin. Acknowledged already during his lifetime as one of the most important composers of the 20th century , György Ligeti gives an impressive account of his live and oeuvre in this film documentary - a splendid source for everybody who wants to use this occasion and learn more about this great creative and intellectual renewer of music.
